Crime, Livelihood & Safety Issues Most Serious In Senadin Residential Area

15.07.2015--United People’s Party (UPP) Piasau chairman and Majulah Miri founder Dato Hii King Chiong said that since establishment of his service centre, they observed that crime, livelihood and safety issues in Senadin residential area were most serious in Miri.

He said the majority of problems in Senadin had existed for a long time, remained unresolved and worsened.

Hii earlier received complaints from the public on blocked drains within Curtin University Sarawak as they have not been cleared for a long time. In addition, rubbish was scattered along roadside near the campus. Hii, together with councillors Bruce Chai, Keith Chin, Kok Yung Kai and political secretary to the chief minister Suzanne Lee Tze Ha, today visited the area to further understand the situation.

He pointed out that the drains near the campus were full of plants and grass and no action has been taken for many years. Whenever it rains heavily, flash flood would occur due to blocked drains. He added that the scattered rubbish by the roadside has greatly affected the cleanliness and surrounding environment.

He vowed to do his best to assist and seek long-overdue solution to the problems in Senadin residential area.
