Hii King Chiong : Majulah Miri Will Continue To Serve The People Despite Obstacles

05.08.2015--Majulah Miri founder Dato Hii King Chiong said Majulah Miri will continue to uphold its service philosophy in putting people first despite having to face challenges and obstacles.

Hii was visiting drainage projects in Krokop today after which he told reporters that Krokop polling district was once considered a ‘black area’ for Barisan Nasional (BN) and an opposition stronghold. However, he felt that there was a reason behind this and believed Krokop would not have become a ‘black area’ if elected representatives had paid more attention to the problems of Krokop residents.

He said since many years ago, Majulah Miri has been on the ground identifying and solving problems of the people but unfortunately there were some quarters attempting to stop the community service of Majulah Miri for their self-interest.

Hii emphasised that Majulah Miri serves the people with no political motives and deserves support from the government and elected representatives. If everyone can unite in serving the people, all problems of the people accumulated over decades could definitely be gradually solved.

He said voters in Krokop turned to support the opposition because they were disappointed with the performance of BN’s elected representatives. He pointed out that there is no reason why the people would not have given support if elected representatives had listened and acted on their requests.

Hii said that despite having limitations, it is Majulah Miri’s service philosophy and pledge to help the people to the best of its ability.

He pointed out that there were too many problems in Krokop accumulated over many years which needed more time to solve. Majulah Miri will always do its best to help solve the problems.

He said the problem in Krokop area was like a heart with blocked blood vessels. Clogging problems will be solved when the blood vessels (drains) to the heart are cleared.

Hii hoped Krokop residents will be patient as Majulah Miri continues to focus on the area and help solve various problems of the residents.

At the same time, he also believed that the drainage problems in Krokop will soon be resolved under the cooperation of the relevant parties.

On the other hand, in response to an elected representative’s earlier comment that one should do homework prior to serving the people, Hii said Majulah Miri only focuses on providing service and assistance on receiving requests from the people and there is no need to do any homework.
