Hii King Chiong : We Welcome Political Enthusiasts To Join UPP And Serve The People

05.05.2015--United People’s Party (UPP) Piasau branch chairman Dato Hii King Chiong welcomes all political enthusiasts to join the party and serve the people.

Hii today told reporters that UPP was established to act as the channel to voice the people’s wishes and solve their livelihood problems.

He believed that with the concerted effort of UPP and Majulah Miri, they are able to provide better services to the people.

“Whether it is UPP or Majulah Miri, we always put people first. Whenever and wherever Hii King Chiong is needed, I will try and do my best as long as it is within my ability.”

He was happy to see Johnson Wee joining UPP to serve the people and believed Wee’s talents will certainly contribute to UPP and the people.

Hii emphasised that UPP Miri’s four party branches are one big family with almost 3,000 members. They treat all comrades equally and work together towards one main purpose - to improve quality of life of the people.

He hoped more young people would join the big UPP family and make contribution to the people.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Pujut assistant treasurer Johnson Wee resigned with immediate effect from the party today and announced his intention to join UPP Senadin branch.

Wee handed over his membership application form to UPP Senadin branch secretary Kong San Hoe in the presence of UPP Piasau branch chairman Dato Hii King Chiong and UPP Pujut branch chairman councillor Bruce Chai.

Johnson Wee, 52, was the former SUPP Pujut assistant treasurer and has been involved in political work for more than 10 years.

Wee said he joined UPP because the concept of UPP is more open and he believed more contribution to the people is possible with the concerted effort of both UPP and Majulah Miri.

He explained that UPP’s service philosophy is consistent with his ideas. For Wee, it is important to play a meaningful role in the party with the ultimate goal of serving the people.
