King Chiong Visits Three Areas To Understand People’s Livelihood Issues

21.04.2016--Majulah Miri leader Dato Hii King Chiong today made special visits to three areas to understand the problems of the local people and will make upgrading plans on drainage, road and church.

Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) Baithani Miri is located at Jalan Pujut 3. Its chairman Agan Maran said he hoped Hii would help request the state government for approval of land to build a new church.

BEM Baithani can no longer accommodate its nearly 900 church members for worship service due to its limited area. Maran had earlier made application to the state government for a vacant land adjacent to the church for the purpose of building a new church but to no avail.

Hii said he would refer the project plan to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem to solve the problem as soon as possible.

Hii also visited two kampung areas in Jalan Pujut 8 to look into the needs of the local residents.

The areas are prone to flooding and residents hoped Hii would help request to tar seal the road to solve the problem.

Apart from flooding woes, Kampung Merapak also faces problems in power supply and the absence of home address. The local residents hoped that the state land would be converted to residential land.

Hii said he would refer the problems of the people and proposals to the chief minister. He pledged to make more contributions for Miri and improve the quality of life of the people. He appealed to the people to support Team Adenan and give him the opportunity to continue to serve Mirians and make Miri an even better city.
