Hii King Chiong Inspects Road Condition In The Rain, Requests Authorities To Install Speed Bumps To Increase Public Safety

10.06.2015--United People’s Party (UPP) Piasau chairman and Majulah Miri founder Dato Hii King Chiong today inspected Kampung Pengkalan-Lutong Baru Road in the rain together with Miri City Council (MCC) councillors. He had called on the authorities to install two speed bumps along the road.

Hii received a complaint on illegal racing activities along the road at night. Local residents have requested for speed bumps to increase public safety.

Hii and MCC engineer Encik Abu visited the area today to further understand the situation and consider the need for speed bumps.

MCC must obtain the consent of at least 60% of residents in the area before speed bumps can be installed. Questionnaires will be distributed to the residents along the road and shall be returned within a week. MCC will then decide whether to install the two speed bumps based on the result of the survey.
