Hii King Chiong : Integrating Party’s Objectives & People’s Wishes, UPP To Serve The People Abundantly

23.11.2014--UPP Piasau branch chairman Dato Hii King Chiong said that if the Chinese community and other communities split because of infighting, then United Peoples’ Party (UPP) is willing to reunite the people, integrate party’s objectives and people’s wishes and ready to serve the people abundantly.

“Politics is complex and realistic. Without the people’s support, there is no political power,” Hii said in his speech at the inaugural annual general meeting and lunch for the party’s branches in Miri region – Piasau, Senadin, Pujut and Bekenu.

He said that although UPP is the youngest political party in the country, it has very experienced political and social workers, huge grassroots, faithful members and supporters.

“Dear comrades, the setting up of UPP’s four branches namely Piasau, Senadin, Pujut and Bekenu in Miri region is a historic moment. We must always remember our pledges to our party and to the people - Loyal To The Party, Put People First.”

Hii emphasised that UPP is confident that many more people will join the party as members and strengthen the party. He pointed out that the falling of some old parties in the past was because they lost direction and separated from the people. He urged members not to repeat the same mistake.

He stressed that everyone must stop wasting time arguing the unimportant issues on who should contest which seat or whether any party can join Barisan Nasional. “The important thing now is to urgently identify plans to provide better services by listening, understanding and solving the difficulties of the people. UPP fights for dignity and not dispute and disgrace,” he said.

Hii said that he set up Hii King Chiong Service Centre three years ago to help the people in need. Together with his team members, they have moved closer to the people to deeply understand and solve their problems. He hoped to multiply his efforts through the more effective political platform. He called for support and opportunity for UPP to serve the people and promised to make efforts and results.

He also urged the multiracial people in Sarawak to strengthen unity as a big family with the spirit of 1Malaysia. He called for joint efforts in the fight for justice, rights and interests of the people of Sarawak.
