Twenty Kampung People Hand Over Membership Application Forms To Join United People’s Party

01.06.2015--United People’s Party (UPP) Piasau chairman Dato Hii King Chiong yesterday received UPP Piasau branch membership application forms from twenty residents of Kampung Pasir Lutong led by village head Jabat Barak.

Kampung Pasir Lutong squatters yesterday held a celebration of Gawai Dayak festival during which village head Jabat Barak handed over membership application forms to Hii who came Gawai visiting together with UPP members.

Some of the residents who applied to join UPP were previously supporters of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) but turned to embrace UPP this Gawai Dayak festival.

Residents hanged Barisan Nasional (BN) and UPP flags high at the function. They also displayed a banner which read “WE KAMPUNG PASIR LUTONG FULLY SUPPORT UPP AND DATO HII KING CHIONG”. Iban ladies dressed in their traditional costumes and the guests were given a grand welcome with Dayak dance and music.
