Majulah Miri Makes Every Effort To Protect People’s Interests At Heart
11.06.2015--Community service centre Majulah Miri founder Dato Hii King Chiong said they will make every effort to the best of ability.
“Service for the people does not necessarily have to be from one with political background. We must work together to the best of ability to protect the people’s rights and interests at heart.”
Hii told the media today that Majulah Miri is a non-profit organisation founded to take care of the local people’s needs and help solve their problems which are neglected by elected representatives. If representatives can always put people first, the people’s problems will surely be effectively solved for the benefits of all.
“Although I am a member of United People’s Party (UPP), I never serve the people from a political point of view. For me, helping people to solve their problems is far more important than political identity. If everyone can uphold such mentality, I believe we can solve any problem.”
He therefore hoped ministers and elected representatives can work together with Majulah Miri for the benefit of Miri people.
He said that since establishment, Majulah Miri has always acted as a communication channel between the people and the government. The service centre has received plenty of requests for assistance. In order to solve livelihood problems and improve the lives of people, they will never ignore calls for help and will continue to actively serve the people. Majulah Miri simply hopes to improve the living environment and infrastructure for the people.
Hii emphasised that Majulah Miri is always ready and sincere to help those in need and improve the lives of people regardless of location, race, religion and ethnicity and with no political motives.
He thanked the government authorities for their assistance and the people for their trust and support that enabled the service centre to successfully accomplish various tasks and missions. He also pledged to continue making contributions to the society, taking care of the local people’s needs and protecting their interests.
Hii welcomed friends especially the younger generation regardless of race, religion and ethnicity, who share the common goal of serving the people to join his team to realise their ambitions.
