Hii King Chiong : Put People First, Serve People Wholeheartedly!

14.06.2015--In recent months, we can see people in Miri liking to look up service teams from our party branches because our party members are united, prompt and determined. We put people first, promote the spirit of national solidarity and serve the people wholeheartedly.”

United People’s Party (UPP) Piasau chairman Dato Hii King Chiong made the statements in his speech tonight at the ‘Parents Appreciation Night’ celebration jointly organised by UPP (Northern Region) Women & Youth Section.

He said after the setting up of UPP (Northern Region) branches, they had successfully walked into the people at the grassroots level to help solve their problems. He was very pleased to note that the people on the ground, regardless of race, ethnicity and religion, were giving great support and reception to the service teams.

“Although we continue to face criticisms and misleading statements from some people out there, our party comrades remain firm and positive. We put people first with a strong determination to give service and work together with the people to solve the problems.”

He continued, “Dear comrades, brothers and sisters, we are family. UPP fully supports Barisan Nasional. There are ministers in BN government, political secretary to the chief minister, councillors and community leaders among our party comrades who work relentlessly every day to serve the people.”

Hii said the determination and sincerity of UPP finally paid off when Prime Minister and BN chairman Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak was at a Gawai Dayak festival celebration recently where he advised Sarawak BN component parties to work together with BN Plus parties for political stability, national unity and harmony as well as a better future.

“Prior to this, Chief Minister and Sarawak BN chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem also issued similar strong messages on a number of occasions where he called on all parties to work together and manage Sarawak. We must therefore avoid split for the well-being of the people of Sarawak! This was a foregone conclusion so stop wasting time arguing on this matter. We should dedicate the precious time to serve the people, walk into the people at the grassroots level and help solve their problems.”

Hii called on his fellow comrades to face the reality together, taking one step at a time and taking systematic and institutional approach to solve problems accumulated for 20 over years and improve lives of Miri people.

He was pleased to see fellow comrades, supporters and other guests bringing their families and elderly parents to the function, filling the place with joy and love.
